Materials Engineer – Engineering Project Team
Location: Kampala, Uganda.
Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.
Primary function:
Provide overall support and assistance to the Construction Supervisor in terms of the material & warehouse management
Responsibilities:
• Assist and support EPT Construction Supervisor in overseeing the EPC contractors’ routine material & warehouse management activities such as the material receiving, open package inspection, storage and issuing warehouse safety and security management, inventory management, material status report and inventory report etc. Manage inventory in compliance with CNOOC approved procedures and process, JOA obligations, applicable.
Mandatory requirements and O&G industry standards.
• Report on procurement planning and material / equipment expediting to support project requirements and anticipation of inventory volume with Team.
• Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.
• Advise on inspection, maintenance and repair procedures.
Responsible for EPT logistics team internal document control (filing of reports, meeting minutes and documentations).
• Advise on the costs implications of materials used and alternatives, in terms of both time and money.
• Liaise with EPT supervision and service companies for materials supply.
Supervise the work of materials engineering technicians and other staff
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Logistics, Material Management, Supply Chain Management
• At least 8 years related work experience, including 5 years similar experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Supply chain background, Comprehensive SCM experience with all disciplines required.
• EPC project experience is preferable
Knowledge:
• Skillful use MS Office and SAP system
• Extensive knowledge of logistics and material management.
• Understanding of oil E&P.
