Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. [KCL) is a member of the Vol café group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and one of the largest coffee exporters in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda’s coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Officer
Duty Station: Kasese
Reports to: Engineering and Production Coordinator The Mechanical Maintenance Officer will keep the machines under his or her supervision functioning at optimal efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Create and Follow Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures. The job holder will need to document each step of the maintenance standard operating procedure for all of the machines under your control and make sure the new workers comply with these procedures.
• Troubleshoot Faulty Machinery. The job holder will need to troubleshoot faulty machinery. He or she will run the machine and keep their eyes and ears peeled for anything unusual.
The Mechanical maintenance Officer will perform mechanical repairs such as repairing faulty equipment.
• He or she will document maintenance and repairs in daily Log in order for them to see what has and hasn’t been done.
• Ensuring safety at workplace. . And any other duties that might be assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications, Experiences and Competencies
• A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum proven working experience of 3 years.
Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage. In depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices. Problem solving aptitude. Good physical condition.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
