Job Description


Qualifications & Experience
• Engineering degree or equivalent in electrical discipline.
• Significant experience of more than 10 years in Mechanics, HVAC, Packages within Oil & Gas business Site / Commissioning experience
• Engineering and Construction site experience
• Team coordination experience
• Knowledge of OPERCOM and ICAPS
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of oil and gas production equipment, processes, and utility systems
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be able to work on their own initiative and proactively interact with discipline teams to obtain information.
• Must be able to react quickly and decisively to constantly changing demands and circumstances and be able to identify, analyze & solve problems within the scope of the role.
• Ability and willingness to effectively and robustly challenge the views of contractors and internal contacts.
• Valid Medical Certificate which complies with company Standards.

Activities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Field Engineering Activities and Construction Supervision:
• Control and supervise the Contractor’s field engineering activities ensuring compliance with Project HSE rules as well as approved design, project requirements and applicable Codes and Standards.
• Check and approve (where required) the field engineering and construction documents prepared by the Contractor related to Mechanical, HVAC, Buildings and Packages.
• Ensure, for the discipline that approved detailed Engineering, Project Specifications and Procedures, Company General Specifications and international codes are well followed.
• Ensure all engineering holds related to the disciplines are fixed prior to installation or register / maintain in a master file.
• Monitor and ensure the proper implementation by Contractors and sub-Contractors of the design changes
• Monitor that adequate care on maintenance/preservation of equipment, building and packages (including suppliers’ recommendations) are being carried out all along the construction phase: from delivery to the hand-over to Commissioning
• Provide support to the construction teams for engineering related topics to ensure that construction risks are identified and mitigated.
• Ensure that technical queries are properly replied thus avoiding resources stand-by. Liaise with Project Engineering leads for a swift addressing of the queries.
• Ensure that Approved AFC documents are used by construction teams.
• Ensure that, for his discipline and area, the site deliverables, as-builts and quality assurance record books are properly documented maintained by the contractors.
• Ensure adequate supervision of Contractor during the day-by-day activity on site highlighting potential issues related to HSE, Schedule, costs…
• Work closely with other disciplines to complete field engineering activities related to packages (including rotating, HVAC, build, lifting etc…)
• Provide expertise and assistance to the construction team on technical aspects of his/her discipline
• Pre-Commissioning – commissioning activities:
• Participate in technical reviews during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Provide technical advice for the mechanical & buildings/HVAC Precommissioning & Commissioning Execution Plan in liaison with discipline lead and commissioning lead. And supervise pre-commissioning activities on Site
• Ensure that pre-commissioning activities are properly completed before the hand-over to commissioning thus reducing the punch items and re-works.
• Witness Contractor’s activities of pre-commissioning to achieve mechanical Completion on a sub-system basis.
• Ensure the closure of punches and carry-over-works thus support commissioning activities.
• Leveraging on technical knowledge of the Mechanical and HVAC packages, to assist Commissioning team in the preparation of Operational Test Procedure and other Commissioning tasks.
• Contribute to the use of OPERCOM methodology to perform pre-commissioning, including for the identification of sub-system as defined
• Contribute to Site Acceptance Tests, pre-commissioning preparation and ICAPS items population
• Contribute to the use ICAPS for the progress & punch list follow-up and their clearance
• Reporting:
• Provide regular reports and feedback to the Mechanical & buildings Lead Engineer and Engineering Manager
• Follow-up the progress and punch list or carry over works
• Prepare adequate documents to support the pre-commissioning execution and the close-out (including Lessons Learned).
• Various:
• Be exemplar on HSE and Compliance records.
• Ensure that Safety, Health, Environment Policy and Management System are adhered and that safe working practices are carried out at all times.
• Comply with HSE policy and documents (directives, rules, specifications, procedures, etc), and ensure those are properly understood.
• Ensure that any incident or anomaly (unsafe act/situation) is immediately reported and analysed.
• Participate in actions for identifying and minimising risks, and the impact of activities
• Take part in incident, accident and anomaly investigations and analyses when is required.
• Attend and actively participate in any HSE inspection, audit or other improvement activity when is required.
Analyse and timely closure any NCR or HSE findings to their own area of work.
