Position: Medical Records Assistant
Numbers of vacancies: 01 position
Location: Kworo Medical Centre and Maternity Care, Pader
Contract Duration: 01 Year Renewable
Cover during Absence: Pharmacist
Person Specifications
Qualifications
I. Must have a Certificate in Medical Record
II. Must be knowledgeable in store management
III. Must have a minimum of 1-5 years’ work experience
Main Purpose
To documents patients’ health and personal information in specified files for record keeping purposes; and be able to retrieve patients’ information with ease when needed.
Specific function includes;
• Ensure that all documents are accurately filled, completed and verified
• Collect patients’ demographic data for easy identification and contact in cases of emergency and correspondence.
Arrange patients’ files in an orderly manner for easy
• Keep patients’ files safe
• Work with senior medical personnel, Clinicians and other team members in getting complete information of patients’ health records; and seek out for other information that are not available in patients’ records
• Enter information in patients’ files into the clinic’s electronic database as backup for retrieval
• Ensures patients’ privacy. This includes handling of patients’ health information with a high level of confidentiality
• Carry out periodic review of patients’ medical records to ensure that old and outdated information is updated to meet current status
Create numbers and assign them to each patient for confidentiality and easy identification of their records
• Make patients’ charts and records available to relevant department in accordance with clinic procedures
• Compile both new and old medical records of clients for clarification and comprehension
• Maintain communication with patients so as to be aware of changes in their health condition quick enough
Produce regular reports, including but not limited to weekly and monthly reports as and when required
• Work with the various departments of the clinic to have a smooth flow of information regarding patients’ treatments and visits to the clinic for record keeping
Risk Management
• Identify, assess and develop strategies to improve record keeping in the facility.
