We work across three practices areas, energy, infrastructure and development, to support clients, such as, Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Millennium Challenge Corporation, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Green Powered Technology is seeking an Office Assistant to support the Administrative Assistant and the front office on the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Architectural and Engineering (A/E) services project for the Northern Uganda Development of Enhanced Local Governance, Infrastructure, and Livelihoods (NUDEIL) activity. The Office Assistant will help the Administrative Assistant perform tasks related to support of daily office administration functions and ensure the security and cleanliness of the office and its surroundings.

Responsibilities:
• Open the office at the appropriate time each morning for cleaning of the office and compound, and monitor safety of property during cleaning.
• Close and lock the office at the end of working hours.
• Oversee the office key case, ensuring that all keys are always kept in the key box to facilitate access and tracking.
• Ensure that daily kitchen duties are effectively carried out as scheduled, and purchase snacks for official meetings at the office as requested.
• As assigned, participate in loading and offloading of equipment to and from the fields or vendors.
• As requested, assist office staff with any tasks related to the general orderliness of the office, including cleaning and relocation of equipment.
• As and when required, update supervisor on office cleaning issues that require attention.
• Monitor and replenish consumables in the kitchen; ensure that the kitchen area is always clean.
• Ensure that toilets are well cleaned and that detergents and other necessities are in place.
• During office working hours, ensure that the office is clean.
• Support other ad hoc duties, such as scanning, binding, and photocopying.
• During working hours, always liaise with the guards of the premises to ensure that the office is accessed only by authorized visitors/affiliates, in order to curb thefts and intrusions.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Administrative Assistant.

Qualifications
• One year of relevant experience in an office setting, preferably in a clerical role.
• At least high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment, honesty, and trustworthiness.
• Ability to operate general office equipment.
• Experience working for an organization (preferred).
• Cooperative attitude.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-learning environment.
• Competency in spoken English. Knowledge of the local language is advantageous
