Responsible for welding and metal fabrication tasks to join and repair metal components that results in strong and reliable metal joints used in road construction projects.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication:
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Perform various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal components accurately.
• Fabricate metal structures, supports, and other components as needed.

Quality Assurance:
• Inspect welded joints for defects, such as cracks, incomplete fusion, or porosity.
• Ensure proper alignment and fit of welded components.

Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for welding operations.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents.

Material Preparation:
• Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, cutting, and grinding as necessary.
• Ensure proper fit-up of components before welding.

Maintenance and Repair:
• Perform welding repairs on damaged or worn metal structures and equipment.
• Assess and identify the need for repairs or replacements.

Equipment Maintenance:
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Collaboration:
• Coordinate with other construction team members to ensure proper integration of welded components.

Documentation:
• Maintain records of welding activities, including materials used and work performed.
Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
