Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international independent humanitarian medical organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care. MSF offers assistance to people based on need irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
MSF is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position below:

Job: Pharmacist

Duty station: Kampala
Department: Medical
Start of work: April
Contract Duration: Open term contract with 3 months’ probation

Accountabilities:
• Ensure the efficient importation of pharmacy items into Uganda for use in accordance with MSF standards and NDA requirements
• Attend importation related meetings with NDA, MSF Supply Unit Kampala and Epicentre
• Initiate and nurture relations with the National Drug Authority (NDA) and other relevant nationally affiliated health institutions and partners to promote a good working relationship
• Participate in the process of international orders and advise on strategies than can facilitate the importation process
• Monitor nay changes to or new NDA protocols, guidelines and requirements and promptly update all concerned
• Inform and update OCP Medical Coordinator and Country Pharmacist with the list of NDA registered drugs and other pharmaceutical products as released annually and upon any changes
• Under the supervision of the Country Pharmacist and in collaboration with the logistics teams ensure the implementation of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) of MSF Pharmaceutical items
• Closely monitor all stages of the importation process and provide regul Close X l concerned
• Facilitate all stages of the importation process by providing MSF and NDA with any documents required in a timely manner
• Under the supervision of the Country Pharmacist write up and update the standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the importation of Pharmaceutical items which should be distributed to all those concerned with any stage of importation for MSF activities in Uganda,

Education
Degree in Pharmacy

Experience
1 years’ experience in similar/ relevant position, Must be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda

Languages
English Essential.

Knowledge
Desirable local languages Desirable Computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Competences
Results and quality oriented, teamwork and cooperation, flexible, commitment to MSF principles, stress management
