Job Description
KfW Entwicklungsbank, the German development bank, is one of the world’s leading bilateral development banks. On behalf of the German Federal Government, KfW finances programmes with the goal to support partners to fight poverty, maintain peace and to protect both the environment and the climate. Since 1964 the total volume of KfW programmes to Uganda amounts to over EUR 1 billion. Ongoing programmes promote climate resilience and water infrastructure in urban and refugee- hosting areas, renewable energy, rural and financial sector development as well as public financial management. In financial sector development, KfW’s focus is on microfinance, as well as rural and agricultural finance. Cooperation in the sector is characterized by direct collaboration with regional and national development banks.
With the aim to support project implementation and preparation, KfW intends to recruit an experienced Portfolio Coordinator for Financial Sector and Public Financial Management with experience in the international cooperation.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The Portfolio Coordinator will be part of the project team and will support KfW headquarters in the conceptual and organizational preparation, appraisal, management and monitoring of the financial sector and public financial management development portfolio. He/She will support the KfW Office Kampala and represent KfW whenever necessary in the Finance and PFM sectors in Uganda. The Portfolio Coordinator will liaise with other actors of German Development Cooperation and be responsive for all stakeholders in the sectors.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s degree in Banking / Financial Management / Business administration / Economics or equivalent with a focus on banking from a recognised/reputed university.
• More than five years of relevant working experience at senior level in the financial sector, in finance ministries, banks or MFI, Central Banks and/or other relevant institutions such as audit or law firms. More than five years relevant working experience in an international environment, preferably in development cooperation, in either a multi- or bilateral donors’ organisation, or in a consulting firm.
