Job Description


To Develop and monitor the implementation of systems, policies, and procedures to deliver sound combination HIV Prevention interventions, including high yielding HIV testing services (HTS); Biomedical HIV prevention (Pre-exposure prophylaxis, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcisions (VMMC); elimination of mother to child transmission (eMTCT) and Early infant diagnosis; structural interventions for HIV prevention (Gender mainstreaming, Interventions for prevention of GBV/VAC and post-GBV care); Social, behavioral change interventions; Key/priority population and AGYW programs in alignment with MoH guidelines and the objectives of the Baylor-Uganda to accelerate HIV epidemic control in the Bunyoro region.

Overall Responsibilities
• Provide leadership to the ACE-Bunyoro HIV Prevention Program team to ensure timely recruitment, retention and performance through timely performance appraisal, coaching and professional development
• Provide strategic direction for HIV Prevention program design, planning and implementation for the ACE-Bunyoro project.
Develop, review and manage the ACE-Bunyoro HIV prevention program work plan and budget.
• Build capacity of Project staff and districts in combination HIV prevention programming, including HTS
• Coordinate and monitor the progress of implementation of HTS and all HIV prevention interventions
• Prepare and avail timely HIV Prevention program reports.
• Closely work with Business development Unit to develop fundable grant proposals
Closely work with the Research department to provide oversight in executing operational research for HIV Prevention.
• Develop and maintain effective corporate, government, and community partnerships or relations that enhance impactful HIV prevention programming.
• Ensure the integration of quality improvement approaches in implementing HIV prevention interventions and documentation of best practices and lessons learned

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• Masters’ degree in Public health
• Background Bachelors’ degree in Medicine and Surgery
• Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• 5-years of relevant working experience, preferably in health development with a reputable NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives
• 3-years of experience in managing HIV prevention programs/projects and must have solid working knowledge and practical skills in combination HIV prevention, including high yielding HIV testing services (HTS); Biomedical HIV prevention (Pre-exposure prophylaxis, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcisions (VMMC); elimination of mother to child transmission (eMTCT) and Early infant diagnosis; structural interventions for HIV prevention (Gender mainstreaming, Interventions for prevention of GBV/VAC and post-GBV care); Social, behavioral change interventions; Key/priority population and AGYW programs
• 5 Years Relevant Experience
