Job Description


The Law Development Centre (LDC) invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant positions in its Staff Establishment, tenable at any of its campuses:

JOB TITLE: Procurement And Disposal Assistant SALARY SCALE: LS7
REPORTS TO: SENIOR PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OFFICER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide support in planning, reviewing, monitoring and reporting on procurement
transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To compile and compute all procurement requirements from line departments.
• To handle suppliers’ correspondences about the procurement procedures and updates.
• To liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and
• services as per contract agreements.
• To ensure timely payments to suppliers by liaising with the relevant departments.
• To receive and register bids.
• To attend to inquiries and notify bidders of the outcome of the bidding process.
• To establish, maintain and update procurement filling system, records and supplier
• database.
• To perform any other duties assigned by the Procurement and Disposal Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education with at least two principal passes.
• A Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
• Computer literacy is a must.
• At least two (2) years’ work experience in a related field.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• He/she should be creative and innovative.
• Ability to embrace change management.
• Computer literate with a strong knowledge of e-procurement.
• He/she should be a person of high integrity.
• Results Oriented.
• Effective communication skills.
• High level of integrity
