JOB DETAILS:

Reports to : Programme Coordinator
Community Empowerment for Rural Development (CEFORD) is a not for profit Non Governmental
Organization (NGO) in West Nile, registered with the National NGO Bureau; and operating in the West Nile districts.
CEFORD has secured funding to implement a Livelihood Project in Refugee hosting communities in Yumbe district and wishes to recruit competent persons to fill the following posts to Strengthened Livelihoods and Peaceful Co-existence of Host and Refugee Community Households in Bidibidi Settlement, West Nile, Uganda.

Functions:

1. To provide technical leadership to the project staff implementing activities in areas of operation;
2. To ensure timely reporting and accountability for all project activities in Area of jurisdiction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

i) Prepare Area Work Plans and Budgets for review by the Programme Coordinator;
ii) Supervise Field staff within Area of jurisdiction;
iii) Train/mentor the Project staff under your supervision
iv) Supervise and monitor implementation of approved Area Work Plans
v) Prepare and submit periodic project progress reports in a timely manner as determined by the
Executive Director
vi) Ensure proper utilization and accountability for all resources allocated to the Project Area;
vii) Provide effective team leadership to all staff in Area of jurisdiction;
viii) Appraise all Project Officers in a timely manner as per CEFORD Service Regulations;
ix) Represent CEFORD in the Sector Working Groups as requested
x) Build sound and mutually respectable relations with the communities and stakeholders served by
the Area;
xi) Adhere to the Humanitarian Principles and Codes of Conduct; CEFORD Codes of Conduct.
xii) Ensure participation of women and other age/sex groups in CEFORD works.
xiii) Act in a way that is sensitive to gender, protection, HIV, environment and other important crosscutting
concerns.
xiv) Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Executive Director or
his/her designee.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum Degree in Agriculture, Social Work, Rural Development or related field
• Post graduate training in project management an added advantage
• Good understanding of local government policies & operations; Humanitarian standards and principles
• Computer skills in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar work
• Mature, responsible professional of high integrity
• Ability to ride motorcycle and valid riding permit an added advantage
