Job Description
Position: Project Coordinator/Manager. (1 Post)
Qualifications and abilities:
• Diploma or degree holder in a social science or health related field. (A Master’s degree will be an added advantage)
• Previous experience in the co-ordination of research studies, and some basic understanding of the scientific and ethical aspects of research studies.
• Ability to prioritize to appropriate deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and experience with MS Office packages.
Professional registration with an accredited organization.
Flexibility to travel and reside in various districts all over Uganda over a two-year period.
• Expected to live in a nearby location next to the respective study clinics set up in various districts all over Uganda
• Fluency in three or more local languages will be an added advantage.
• Prior research experience in epilepsy or a related field will be an added advantage
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reports to the Principal investigator.
• Ordering the necessary supplies and equipment and ensuring that the required logistics reach the respective study sites in time.
• Coordinating the rest of the various study activities, and working with the rest of the study team.
Ensuring that transportation and scheduling of clinical assessments and other follow- up of patients is instituted on time.
• Writing regular progress reports as required.
• Maintaining necessary records and to oversee record – keeping by the field team staff
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal investigator.
Duty Station:
Respective study clinics set up in various districts all over Uganda.
