PURPOSE
Project management and support activities related to Protection and Conservation of Fresh Water resources including administrative support for Join For Water Uganda

ROLES
Role 22: Project officer
Role 23: Technical Project management and support

CONTEXT
Department: Programs- Join For Water Uganda
Reports to: Country Coordinator Join For Water Uganda
Provides guidance and coaching to: / volunteers and interns in the Programs department (Technical)

Provides support to:
• Country Coordinator Join For Water Uganda
• Compliance officer Join For Water Uganda
• PCRE Advisor Join For Water Uganda
• Advisor MEAL/Program Join For Water Uganda
• Programme service Join For Water Uganda Provides backup for:
• Advisor MEAL/Program Join For Water Uganda

COMPETENCES
Profile
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role and responsibilities in an NGO
• Clear understanding of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) principles
• Knowledge and experience with technical and/or methodological aspects of the management of Natural and Water Resources, in the field of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) and/or water in agriculture
• Demonstrated understanding of Planning processes at the Micro catchment, including how to develop and implement IWRM plans
• Ability to develop and implement environmental policies and procedures
• Ability to represent JFW in relevant engagement within the region
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Stakeholder / partner engagement networking and collaboration. s of intervention
• Administrative Skills (organizing meetings/ workshops and follow-ups etc.)
• Knowledge of donor regulations
• Very good knowledge of English, basic knowledge of Runyakitara is a definite advantage

• Good knowledge of Excel and other current computer programs

Education
• The ideal candidate should have at least a degree in Environment, Natural resources, Agriculture, Development studies, Community development or any other degree in humanities but with upright previous experience in implementation of projects in Environment, Water Resources Management and Conservation. A post graduate education in related field is an added advantage.
• The candidate should also demonstrate good understanding of stakeholder’s engagement and documentation/writing and planning skills and MUST be able to work under minimum supervision.

The selection process is as follows:
• Incomplete applications will be excluded;
• Shortlisted candidates, on the basis of a CV and a cover letter, will be invited to participate in the second phase;
• Second phase of the selection with interview and practical test; interviews are scheduled.
• Selected candidates may be invited to a second interview.
• The original and signed CV, diplomas and cover letter must be available during the interview for the selected candidates.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. The files submitted by the candidates remain the property of the organization. Submitted applications may be retained by the organization to constitute a selection reserve with a validity of up to two years.
