Job Description


Uganda Development and Health Associates (UDHA) is a regis- tered NGO with 17 years of experience in integrated grassroots interventions that ensure that children and youth, especially the most vulnerable receive health services, information, skills, and assets needed to be resilient. We envision a society in which people are fully empowered to manage their health and development needs.
UDHA is a Sub Recipient of the Global Fund Grant through TASO Uganda under the New funding model (NFM3). The Project aims to support the implementation of Uganda’s Response to HIV/ AIDS and Tuberculosis in the Busoga and Bukedi regions. UDHA requires dedicated, competent, innovative, and result-oriented individuals for employment on a contract basis for the positions below:
Job Title: PROJECT OFFICER
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Location: Mayuge/ Kaliro/Tororo

Job Purpose: The Project Officer will lead on timely and efficient implementation of all project activities in the program Area and is responsible for the delivery of project results in accordance with UDHA’s core values. S/he will work closely with the Project Coordinator, as well as other project staff to ensure effective coordination and service delivery. S/he will support strength- ening the capacity of governance structures and district local government structures and systems to establish and enhance the delivery of quality services in the target communities.

Job Roles.
1. Coordination, planning, reporting, and ability to actively support project teams to manage to competing work priorities.
2. Prepare monthly, and quarterly work Plans and Budgets.
3. Supervise and mentor frontline stakeholders like the VHTS, Mentors, and Community champions to deliver desired project results.
4. Ensure proper utilization and accountability for all resources allocated to activities in Compliance with the approved donor budget and work Plans.
5. Represent UDHA in the Sector Working Groups at district levels.
6. Build sound and mutually respectable relations with the communities and stakeholders served by the project.
7. Develop and deliver project progress reports, requirements, documentation, and presentations.
8. Hold performance reviews in the districts of operation.
9. Co-ordinate projects meetings in the district of operation and Liaise with project stakeholders in areas of operations.
10. Plan for resources needed to Implement and coordinate the daily project activities.
11. Maintain regular contact with partners and project beneficiaries in the districts.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: Project Officer
1. Minimum Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences/Social Works and Social Administration / Public Health/Community Psychology or any other related training in Humanities.
2. Additional & desirable qualifications/capabilities: A Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management/ Monitoring and Evaluation/Training in Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health/ Counselling training in HIV/AIDS.
3. Ability to ride a Motorcycle and possession of a valid ridding permit.
4. Experience and Exposure: A minimum of 3 years working experience in donor funded organizations and or/Experience of working in the rural communities.
