Job Description


It’s hard to believe that today 844 million people do not have clean water and 2.3 billion do not have a decent toilet – around one in three of the world’s population. Every two minutes, a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.

WaterAid is looking for a Regional Coordinator to play a vital role in our vision to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030. We’re looking for people who share a commitment to our vision.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overall leadership to Regional WaterAid (WA) teams, facilitate, coordinate and administer all aspects of the program planning, organizing, administration, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of program activities with regional, district and city administration as well as local communities.
  • Ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations of all functions of the program (sector support-influencing, service delivery, capacity building, learning and documentation) towards the fulfilment of the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Provide sufficient level of representation for WaterAid Uganda (WAU) in regional, district and other forums of interest within the eastern region.

To be Successful, you will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences/Public Health Sciences, Water Resource Engineering or related fields. Or equvialent experience
  • Extensive proven experience and progressive work experience, preferably in INGOs.
  • Knowledge of program management
  • Knowledge of polices, strategies and stakeholders related to the program
