EGPAF is a consortium partner for USAID’s funded Uganda Health Activity (UHA) which aims at helping to improve overall health system resilience and to increase the survival and well-being of vulnerable populations in USAID Uganda priority districts. To support the implementation of UHA, EGPAF is seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
Regional Program Director will provide overall leadership to integrated technical assistance and services delivery to improve access to and use of quality HIV prevention, care, and treatment through a strengthened health system at community and facility levels. The Regional Program Director will also work with the Country team and will travel extensively to provide direct technical advice to enhance local ownership and leadership for sustainable health outcomes. He/she will also strengthen health systems resilience and provide technical support and guidance to the Ministry of Health and other health implementing partners, districts, regional, and sub-district community levels for all integrated health service delivery activities.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?
Ensures the technical soundness of integrated health services by updating EGPAF staff and implementing partners on technical advances and lessons learned around the world.
• Ensures that EGPAF develops and implements strategies that are in accordance with national and international standards for Family Health and WASH programming services.
• Provides technical leadership and guidance during the development of EGPAF’s annual planning and participates in the planning and budgeting activities, especially in regard to Family Health services.
• Provide technical expertise and experience in designing and implementing comprehensive integrated health programs, and related health system-strengthening and service delivery.
Ensure the coordination and implementation of the technical strategies and policies which are in accordance with national and international standards.
• Leads a team of Technical Advisors to provide technical guidance and assistance to implementing partners including CSOs, CBOs, NGOs, and District Health Offices. This will include technical review and oversight for strategic and activity plans developed for implementation.
• Provides mentorship and builds the capacity of technical staff for the setting up and running of integrated health services and tracks progress through technical assistance site visits and activity reports, in collaboration with MOH, other implementing partners and the EGPAF program team.
Provides leadership for technical reporting according to defined reporting schedule and writes regular monitoring and technical reports as required and contributes to EGPAF and donor reports.
• Coordinates technical partner relationships as may be assigned by the Country Director and represents EGPAF at the regional and national levels.

To be successful, you will have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery and Master’s degree in Public Health or other clinical disciplines is desired.
• Minimum of 8 years progressively responsive experience in a senior role managing large and complex integrated health service delivery or TA project addressing integrated HIV prevention, care, and treatment and/or HSS programming, MNCH, FP/RH, nutrition, and WASH in a similar context, with at least three of those years working in Uganda as a senior technical manager.
• Experience and expertise in the evidence-based facility- or community-based MNCH, FP/RH, nutrition, and/or WASH service delivery approaches, HIV approaches; health governance; supply chain strengthening; Quality Improvement; Monitoring Evaluation and Learning.
Substantive knowledge of current issues and developments in HIV prevention, care, and treatment and/or HSS programming, MNCH, FP/RH, nutrition, and WASH in Uganda and globally.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government, donors, the private sector, and community organizations to advance health objectives.
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams to achieve health results in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on knowledge and skills in Project Management including designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring integrated Health programs.
• Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of senior and mid-level public and private sector counterparts and stakeholders, at the district, regional and national level Required Competencies:
• Experience working with decentralized health systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and English language oral presentation skills.
• Trainer Skills.
• Strong skills in leadership, teamwork, networking, facilitation, strategic thinking, and oral and written communication.
• Willingness to work and travel in rural settings in Uganda.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point
