Job Description


Planning and implementing Quality Improvement strategies for health care and service provision for Regional Referral Hospitals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Providing technical support to the Regional Referral
• Hospital to institutionalize Quality Improvement including: a) Participating in drafting, approval and dissemination
• of Quality Improvement guidelines.
• Ensuring the formation and implementation of
• Quality Improvement Committees and Teams at
• Regional, District and Lower Health Facilities.
• Providing technical support in the coordination
• of Quality Improvement Activities in liaison other Implementing Partners in the Region.
• Advocating and mobilizing resources of Quality
• Improvement for the Region.
• Developing and implementing Quality Improvement
• Work Plans including:
• Providing technical support in development of QI
• Work plans and budgets.
• Supporting the development of Quarterly Quality
• Improvement Action Plans.
• Providing technical support to the Regional, District
• Quality Improvement Committees and Lower Health Facility Quality Improvement Teams through
• coaching, supervision and mentorship.
• Identifying training needs within the Region and
• participating in Quality Improvement Capacity
• Building for health workers in the Region.
• Monitoring and Evaluating Quality Improvement
• activities including:
• Ensuring consolidation of Quarterly Regional
• Quality Improvement Reports with those of the
• Ministry of Health b) Providing guidance and technical support
• during quarterly regional learning sessions and performance reviews.

• Maintaining updated database on trainings in the iHRIS and other relevant databases. d) Convening stakeholder’s meetings.

Academic Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in Medical field such as MBChB, Nursing, Laboratory, and related fields and should be Registered with the relevant Professional Councils. Candidates possessing a Master’s in Public Health, Health Services Management, or Postgraduate qualification in Public Administration or Business Administration will be added advantage. Five (5) years’ experience in Health Services
• Management in Public Health Care Setting.
• Five (5) experience in supporting teams to apply Quality Improvement approaches.

Competences:
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from start up.

• Proficiency in Microsoft word, power point, excel.
• Good policy analytical skills
• Familiar with basic technology including managing
• virtual meetings.
