Job Description


As a hospital security officer, you protect staff, patients, and visitors and ensure that all hospital property is secure. Your duties are to patrol the building and its grounds, monitor all activity in and out of the hospital, and endeavor to prevent vandalism, theft, fire, and disturbances within the facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to participate in on-the-job training
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
• Proven working experience as a security guard
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Capable of following complex instructions

• Client satisfaction and responsiveness
• Quality of security service
• Zero safety incidences (break-ins, accidents etc.)
• Equipment handling and maintenance

• 100% attendance of training sessions
• 100% adherence to agreed uniform policy

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Periodically tours buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure and not tampered with.
• Check all hospital doors on an hourly basis.
• Check physician offices at least twice a shift.
• Check parking lots at least three times a shift.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or telephones police for assistance, according to circumstances
• Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and hospital personnel in event of fire to extinguish fire.
• Patrols hospital grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
• Checks cars and verifies if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as fire zones, turnarounds, ambulance entrances or reserved parking spaces.
• Checks exterior lighting and access routes to emergency and fire entrances.
• Escort personnel to and from parking lots or between buildings as requested.
• Answers visitor’s questions concerning locations of various offices, rooms, and other areas within the hospital.
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Remain in compliance with hospital, local and state regulations.
• Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations.
