Senior Internal Auditor
Salary Scale: NBRB 4
Reports to: Executive Secretary/ Board

Job Purpose
To provide independent assurance to the Board that the Board’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement audit plans based on risk profile of the Board.
• Ensures that planned assignments are conducted in compliance with existing procedures, rules and regulations.
Conduct on s ot and s ecial Internal Audit assignments
• Develop and implement the internal Audit Manual.
• Review and submit periodic internal audit reports.
• Develop the risk management framework of the Board, and subsequently report to the Board.
• Assess implementation of audit recommendations both internal and external viii. Support the external audit process.
• Review and update the corporate risk register.
• Supervise staff in the department Minimum qualifications
• An honors bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration/ Commerce with a bias in Accounting from a recognized institution or Full professional qualification in ACCA, CPA or CMA with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
• Full professional qualifications in either ACCA, CPA, CIA or CMA. Must be a member of ICPA-U

Desirable
• A Master’s degree in any of the above fields from a recognized Institution. ii. Membership to the Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda (ILA).
• Experience
• Five (5) years of working experience three (3) of which must have been served at Internal Auditor level or equivalent level in Government or its equivalent in a reputable organization
