JOB DETAILS:

ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a National Development Organization registered under the laws of Uganda and with a local Board seeks to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven, result-oriented, and competent person to fill the position of; Social Movements Inspirator – Mubende.
Job Title :Social Movements Inspirator
Reports to : Manager Democratic Governance
Responsible for : None
Directorate : Programmes
Location : Mubende
Contract Period : 6 Months
Salary +Benefits : Ugx 1,300,000 Gross Monthly; Medical Insurance
Job Role: Enhance the capacities of Youth Groups, women groups and partners to enable them embrace and integrate HRBA principles to their interventions and programming in responding to COVID19 and other Human rights abuses in their community.

Key Result Areas and Activity

1. 2 groups established and are conducting awareness initiatives against COVID19.
• Support establishment of local youth and women groups as the coordinating body for local action on covid-19 in their area.
2. 5 COVID19 related information and awareness raising initiatives completed
• Use media such as television, radio, community radio, SMS, phone calls, helplines, posters, and other innovative mediums to reach out to people and increase awareness about the transmission of coronavirus and protective measures
3 Number of cases documented and submitted to district leaders to inform next cause of action.
• Support documentation of shrinking space due to restriction put in place by authorities due to covid-19
4. 3 community structures, 5 local organisations, 3 youth groups and 3 women’s rights organisations reached and have knowledge to help them overcome COVID19 and its impact
• Support engagement of community structures to reach all community members such as religious leaders, local organisations, youth organisations, women s rights organisations
5. 2 Online awareness campaigns conducted about COVID 19
• Support GP Uganda Online awareness campaigns on COVID19

Qualifications:

• University Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or equivalent from a recognized institution; a post graduate qualification in any of the above disciplines will be an added advantage
• At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience from a recognized institution, preferably an NGO
• Planning and Budgeting skills; Capacity building skills; Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills; Community mobilization and facilitation skills; Team player; Confidence, openness and willingness to learn; Self-driven; Ability to work in community setting
