B JOB DESCRIPTION
B1 Overall purpose of the job.
To plan, supervise and ensure proper construction of main feeder roads as well as the track network and bridges, ensuring proper and regular maintenance of roads with adequate drainage and appropriate cambering and using good quality marram.

Key Responsibilities
• To plan, supervise and ensure proper construction of main feeder roads as well as the track network and bridges.
• Ensuring proper and regular maintenance of roads with adequate drainage and appropriate cambering and using good quality marram
• Checking the attendance and punctuality of subordinate staff and taking appropriate action as the case may be.
• Allocating and assigning subordinate staff to specific job tasks and progressively monitoring their performance
• Ensuring that machinery and equipment are correctly set and aligned for particular functions to achieve efficiency and productivity
• Locating and establishing good quality marram quarried and ensuring their proper excavation
• Ensuring that road construction and earth-moving machinery are sent to the main workshop for scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing without fail.
• Monitoring of fuel usage and consumption in order to control its possible abuse and pilferage
• Keeping and maintaining daily records of activities of the section and carry out on the job training to enhance skilled manpower capacity building
• Ensuring that mandatory daily checks and services of vehicles, machinery and equipment by operation/drivers are properly carried out.
• Enforcing the company Safety Health and Environment policy at work
• Performing any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.

C Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
C .1 Education:
A Degree in Agricultural Engineering.

C1.2 Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of three (3) years in a similar job. Knowledge in Mechanical Engineering, Road Maintenance, attention to detail, good task allocation, good record keeping, report writing skills and good communication skills.

Communication Skills: The position demands constant interactions with employees, management, and stakeholders throughout the business and, therefore, communication skills are an absolute necessity. Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual and demonstrate calmness during times of uncertainty.

People Skills: individual who is able to gunner the trust and respect of departmental heads and management.
