Job Description
Responsible for increasing the performance, productivity and accountability of the district leadership and coordination structures, health facility leadership through health systems strengthening, leadership and governance interventions, capacity building and addressing the leadership and governance gaps for better health outcomes at district Level
Overall Responsibilities
- Support District Leadership to establish, train, orient, equip and functionalize key leadership and governance structures at district, health facility and Sub-district/Sub-County level.
- Development of periodic cluster work plans and budgets for project leadership and governance interventions
- Develop partnerships with relevant district, health facility and sub-county stakeholders and periodically engage them during performance review meetings with updates & plans on leadership & governance interventions best practices & lessons learnt.
- Support the District leadership to set up, train, support and maintain district and regional based mentorship teams of leadership and governance ambassadors to periodically conduct mentorships to all supported health facilities, review performance and share feedback with district leadership.
- Support the district-based and health facility mentors in data utilization through use of Performance Monitoring Tools, regular meetings to inform data driven decision making.
- Support the district-based mentors to conduct regular support supervision to supported health facilities to address issues of health workers attendance to duty, rewards and sanctions to motivate the health work force and summarize key site specific issues for District follow up and action.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
- Degree in Social work & Social Administration, Social Sciences, Governance, Adult & Community Education, Community Development or a related field, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning or Monitoring and Evaluation is an Added advantage, 3 years Demonstrated work related experience in supporting Leadership skills development and Governance interventions through working with local governments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Work related experience in building partnerships, networking, and stakeholder engagement at national and regional level, Good communication & presentation skills and must be a team player
