Job Description


Joint Medical Store (JMS) is a Church founded private not for profit organization whose mission is ‘To Provide Affordable Quality Health Solutions through an Efficient Supply Chain System that Delivers value to Accredited Health Units and Other Stakeholders!
JMS was awarded a contract by USAID to manage the warehousing and distribution Activity of HIV commodities (pharmaceuticals, test kits, supplies) procured by IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) local partners for Procurement of HIV Commodities for the Private Not-For-Profit (PNFP) Sector. The contract will run for 5 years from Oct 2021 to Sept 2026. JMS seeks a qualified, passionate and highly motivated individual willing to share in our vision to join the team as Technical Specialist.
Position: Technical Specialist
Reports to: Project Director
Supervises: Technical Officers
Directorate: Customer Services

Main purpose of the job:
The primary objective of the assignment is Commodity Supply Management, monitoring & Evaluation. The Technical Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities of the Project, assisting the Project Director in preparing Quarterly/Annual reports on project progress and will monitor the project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the MIS of the JMS – USAID Project and will be responsible for the consolidation and analysis of different project data in relation to the project activities.

Person Specifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Public Health or Health Services Management.
• Master’s degree in any of the quantitative discipline.

Experience, knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• At least 10 years of experience of supporting project work and/or M&E activities for an NGO with at least 8 years of experience in warehousing and distribution activities with demonstrated experience of leading teams to achieve development results.
• Experience working on a USAID Project will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and maintaining professional relationships with host country counterparts in government, civil society, and the private sector.
• Experience in designing M&E systems, tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports.
• Broad experience in the design and implementation of capacity building activities in M&E.
• Proficient computer literacy, specifically Excel and Word and in the development of MIS software using database software / or Statistical Software (SPSS, STATA).
• Advanced skills in data analysis presentation and report writing.
